| VS-29 was officially commissioned on 01April, 1960 and adopted the "World famous" "Dragonfires" as their Squadron name. Click here for more detailed history. |
In 1961, VS29 made their fisrt cruise on the USS Kearsarge (CVS-33) and in 1962 and 1963, assisted in the recovery of "Mercury" space craft.
